RAMALLAH, Thursday, July 11 2024 (WAFA) – European Commissioner for Crisis Management, Janez Lenarčič today said that “the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza is completely unacceptable.”
Lenarčić noted that the ongoing Israeli bombing is hampering the distribution of aid in the Strip.
Lenarčić affirmed that the EU calls for an urgent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip to provide the necessary humanitarian aid.
He pointed out that humanitarian aid should not only enter Gaza, but should be distributed to everyone in need of assistance throughout the Strip.
The Commission member further said that the first problem facing the people of Gaza regarding the aid is being insufficient.
"The second and major problem is the security situation resulting from the ongoing Israeli bombing even as aid reaches the Gaza border, and therefore cannot be distributed."
