BRUSSELS, Tuesday, June 11, 2024 (WAFA)- The European Union (EU) said more than 2,000 aid trucks are stacked on the Egyptian side of the southern Palestinian city of Rafah.
“More than 2,000 trucks carrying humanitarian aid and commercial goods are waiting in Egypt, ready to enter Gaza,”
“Due to intense military operations, the Rafah crossing remains closed,” said the Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations on X.
“The EU advocates for sustained, unimpeded and safe humanitarian access.”
The directorate published a short video on X showing a large number of trucks carrying food supplies lined up on the Egyptian side of the Rafah border crossing.
The Israeli military took control of the Rafah border crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt on May 7th.
