Weather: Hot conditions, a rise in temperature

RAMALLAH, Thursday, August 31, 2023 (WAFA) – Hot to very hot conditions are expected today in Palestine with another rise in temperature to become 4°C above the seasonal average, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Winds are southwesterly to northwesterly, moderate become active at night, and the sea waves are low to medium.

Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 32°C and a low of 20°C, and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 31°C and a low of 19°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 41°C and a low of 26°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 31°C and a low of 24°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

Temperature is expected to drop tomorrow, Friday, while remaining 3°C above the seasonal average.

Satuday's and Sunday's temperature is expected to drop again, becoming around its annual average.

PMD warned citizens against direct exposure to the sun during peak hours and setting fire in grassy areas.
