RAMALLAH, Saturday, August 26, 2023 (WAFA) - The three Palestinian Arabic dailies published today, al-Quds, al-Hayat al-Jadida, and al-Ayyam, highlighted on their front page the death of Izz al-Din Mahmoud Kanaan, 20, from the town of Jaba, south of Jenin, as a result of wounds sustained from Israeli army gunfire during last month’s assault on Jenin refugee camp.
The dailies also highlighted the weekly confrontations between Palestinians and Israeli occupation forces, mainly the attack on Muslim worshipers as they were on their way to attend the Friday prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque in East Jerusalem and the suppression of the weekly protest in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of East Jerusalem, as well as in various areas of the West Bank and Gaza.
