RAMALLAH, Thursday, August 17, 2023 (WAFA) – Very hot conditions in Palestine are expected to prevail today with a rise in temperature, which approaches 3°C above the seasonal average, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Winds are westerly to northwesterly, light to moderate, and sea waves are low.
The temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 33°C and a low of 22°C, and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 32°C and a low of 21°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 42°C and a low of 27°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 34°C and a low of 26°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
However, no change in temperature is expected on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, which remains 3°C above the seasonal average, said the PMD, which warned people against direct exposure to sunlight for a long period, especially from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and against setting fire in areas with dry grass.
