NABLUS, Thursday, March 16, 2023 (WAFA) – Three Palestinians were Wednesday night injured, while dozens others suffocated, during confrontations with Israeli forces, who broke into the eastern area of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, sources said.

The Israeli army raided the area to provide protection to dozens of illegal Israeli settlers, who were on their way to break into the archeological site of Joseph's Tomb, sparking confrontations with Palestinian youth.

Ahmad Jibril, the head of the Palestinian Red Crescent Emergency and Ambulance Department, told WAFA that three Palestinians were shot with Israeli live bullets, two with gas bombs in the hands, noting they were all taken to the hospital.

He added that one was injured with a shrapnel in the face, while 52 others suffered from suffocation due to inhaling the tear gas bombs fired at them by the soldiers.

Jibril added that the Israeli forces prevented a Red Crescent staff vehicle from entering Balata refugee camp to provide aid to one of the casualties, noting that another staff vehicle was barred from entering al-Dahiya area to help another patient.

Settlers repeatedly break into Joseph’s Tomb, located in a densely Palestinian populated area in Nablus, provoking chaos and confrontation with local residents.
