Israel ratifies law to cancel evacuation of four settlements in northern West Bank

TEL AVIV, Sunday, February 12, 2023 (WAFA) –The Israeli Ministerial Committee for Legislation approved today a bill to cancel the evacuation of four settlements in the northern West Bank.

This came as the Israeli cabinet is discussing, this evening, completing plans to legalize random settlement outposts in the West Bank, and approving plans for settlement expansion that include building thousands of new settlement units, according to Arab 48 news website.

The law to cancel the evacuation of four settlements in the north of the West Bank comes as a prelude to returning settlers to these settlements after they have been dismantled.

The four settlements are Ganim, Kadim, Homesh, and Sanor.

The law will be put to vote in a preliminary reading in the Knesset this Wednesday. It will go into effect if it is voted in favor of three readings.

The bill aims at allowing the re-location and free movement of settlers in the area, and will later allow the planning and rebuilding of the evacuated settlements.
