BETHLEHEM, Friday, December 2, 2022 (WAFA) – Bethlehem Municipality Thursday denied a tourist group entry into the Nativity Church for wearing Israeli themed shirts.

The Palestinian radio station Mawwal posted a video footage showing Palestinian police officers denying the group entry into the church before a police officer summons the tourist guide to meet Bethlehem mayor, Hanna Hanania, at the plaza outside the church.

Hanania made it clear to the tourist guide that it was incongruous for a tourist guide to accompany a group of tourists wearing Israeli themed shirts into Bethlehem.

“This is not Israel, but Palestine. This is a Palestinian city par excellence. Hence, it is your responsibility ]as a tourist guide[ to tell any ]foreign[ tourist intending to visit the Nativity Church that he is about to enter Palestine,” Hanania stressed.
