RAMALLAH, Wednesday, November 23, 2022 (WAFA) - The trade balance, which represents the difference between exports and imports, showed an increase in trade deficit by 2% in September compared to August. It also increased by 46% compared to September 2021 and reached $584 million, today said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).
It said exports decreased in September by 17% compared to August, while they increased by 14% compared to September 2021 and reached $128.1 million.
Exports to Israel decreased in September by 14% compared to August and it represented 94% of total exports in September.
At the same time, exports to other countries decreased by 50% during the same period compared to August.
Imports also decreased in September by 2% compared to August, while they increased by 39% compared to September 2021 and reached $712.1 million, said the PCBS.
Imports from Israel increased by 6% in September compared to August and it represented 61% of total imports in September.
On the other hand, imports from other countries decreased by 14% compared to August.
