PM Shtayyeh signs €22 million support agreement with Germany

RAMALLAH, Wednesday, November 16, 2022 (WAFA) – Palestine and Germany signed today an agreement worth €22 million to support the vocational and technical education and training sector.

The agreement was signed in Ramallah under the auspices and presence of Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh.

This agreement comes in line with the Palestinian national priorities, with regard to supporting employment and the vocational and technical education and training sector in Palestine, in addition to providing infrastructure support for all government vocational and technical education and training institutions.

It will also help contribute to the establishment of Nablus University for vocational and technical education, especially in building an administration building and other facilities.

"We appreciate the signing of this important agreement, which comes within the government's efforts to advance the education and vocational and technical training sector to meet the needs of the labor market," Shtayyeh said during the signing ceremony.

He thanked the German government and people for their continuous support to the Palestinian people, as well as all the parties who worked to achieve this important agreement.

For his part, the representative of Germany to the State of Palestine, Oliver Owcza, stressed the importance of this agreement in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries and contributing to enhancing the capabilities and empowerment of Palestinian youth.

Additionally, he said, the agreement helps promote vocational and technical education and training, which contributes to the promotion of education in general.
