WEST BANK,  Wednesday, October 12, 2022 (WAFA) – Palestinians in several occupied West Bank cities observed today a commercial strike in solidarity with Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem's Shufat refugee camp and in protest against Israel's ongoing seige on the camp and Anata town, northeast of Jerusalem.

Shops and universities in Hebron and Tulkarm were closed today as well as the universities in Bethlehem.

The Israeli siege on Shufat refugee camp and nearby Anata town continued today for the fifth consecutive day.

Life was disrupted in Shufat refugee and Anata for the last days after the Israeli occupation authorities decided to collectively punish more than 130,000 Palestinian residents of these two neighborhoods by locking them in following a shooting attack at an army checkpoint at the camp’s entrance on Saturday night that left one soldier dead and another critically wounded.
