RAMALLAH, Sunday, August 14, 2022 (WAFA) – The overall consumer price index (CPI) for Palestine recorded a decrease by 0.37% in July 2022 compared to the previous month, said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) in a statement today.
PCBS said consumer price index in the Gaza Strip decreased by 1.04%, while it decreased by 0.40% in the West Bank and by 0.91% in occupied Jerusalem.
It said the decrease in CPI in Palestine in July was a result of the decrease in the prices of chicken, dried vegetables and flour despite the increase in the prices of fruits, potatoes, eggs and fuel during the same month.
Compared with the same month in 2021, CPI in July 2022 increased by 3.95% compared with July 2021, PCBS said.
