RAMALLAH, Thursday, August 04, 2022 (WAFA) – The General Supervisor of the Official Media, Ahmad Assaf, today received World Bank Country Director for the West Bank and Gaza Kanthan Shankar at his office in Ramallah.

During their meeting, Assaf expressed appreciation of the World Bank’s role in Palestine and support in various sectors while stressing that the Israeli occupation remains the greatest obstacle to development in Palestine.

He thanked Shankar for his role during his tenure of office in Palestine.

Shankar thanked Assaf for the warm welcome and stressed the need to build on what has been achieved so far by the World Bank while pledging to continue to provide assistance to the Palestinian people.
