Body of Palestinian lawyer who drowned at Tiberias Lake pulled out dead

UMM AL-FAHM, Saturday, July 30, 2022 (WAFA) – The body of Palestinian lawyer Ra’ed Mahamid, who went missing in the Lake of Tiberias nine days ago, was pulled out dead today from the lake, his family and media sources said.

The body of Mahamid was located nearly 200 meters from the site where he went missing earlier this month after nine days of strenuous search operations by civil defense teams, the sources said.

Mahamid, a father of three and resident of the city of Umm al-Fahm, was on a cruise in the lake with some friends on Friday, July 22, when he went missing and apparently drowned to death.

Of note, available data show that 67 people drowned and died during the swimming seasons in Palestine during the years 2020 and 2021.
