Weather forecast: Heavy heat stress set to continue

RAMALLAH, Friday, July 29, 2022 (WAFA) – The heavy heat stress is set to continue to prevail on Friday, paving the way to very hot and dry conditions in daytime and mild to relatively hot conditions in nighttime with steady temperature, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Light to moderate northwesterly wind blows. Sea waves are low.

Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 35°C and a low of 23°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 34°C and a low of 22°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 43°C and a low of 29°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 35°C and a low of 26°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

Saturday’s temperature is set to slightly drop and approach 4°C above the seasonal average, with very hot and dry conditions in daytime and mild to relatively hot conditions in the night.

The same weather conditions are expected for Sunday.

A further slight drop of temperature is expected on Monday, yet the very hot and dry conditions continue to prevail in daytime and relatively hot to mild conditions in nighttime.

PMD warns people against being exposed to the sun for long hours, particularly from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and setting fire to dry grassy areas.
