RAMALLAH, Monday, July 25, 2022 (WAFA) - Exports increased in May by 6% compared to April. They also increased by 14% compared to May 2021 and reached $118 million, today said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).
Exports to Israel increased in May by 8% compared to April and they represented 92% of the total May exports.
On the other hand, exports to other countries decreased by 12% during the same period.
Imports also increased in May by 2% compared to April. They also increased by 46% compared to May 2021 and reached $674.4 million.
Imports from Israel decreased by 1% in May compared to April and they represented 56% of total imports in May.
On the other hand, imports from other countries increased by 4% compared to April.
The trade balance, which represents the difference between exports and imports, showed an increase in trade deficit by 1% in May compared to April. It also increased by 55% compared to May 2021 and reached $556.4 million.
