President Abbas briefs Romanian Premier on latest developments

BUCHAREST, Tuesday, July 19, 2022 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas today briefed Romanian Premier Nicolae Ciucă on the latest developments with regards to the Palestinian question in Bucharest.

During their meeting, President Abbas noted the ongoing Israeli violations against the Palestinian people along with their property and holy sites, incessant colonial settlement construction and land grab.

He commended Romanian for its positions at international forums in support of the Palestinian people in their struggle for freedom and independence and expressed his pride in bilateral relations while stressing the need for furthering their development.

Meanwhile, Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Minister Riyad al-Malki signed two cooperation agreements on the sidelines of President Abbas’ meeting with his Romanian counterpart, Ciucă.

Minister al-Malki two cooperation agreements; one in the field of higher education and scientific research with Romanian Education Minister Sorin Mihai Cîmpeanu and the other in the field of security cooperation and preventing and combating transnational organized crime, terrorism and other crimes with Romania’s Deputy Internal Affairs Minister Raed Arafat.
