RAMALLAH, Sunday, July 3, 2022 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic-language dailies focused today on the sudden death yesterday of Saadia Farajallah, 68, in the Israeli prison of Damon, near Haifa.
Al-Quds and Al-Ayyam said Farajallah, a mother of eight from the town of Idna in the south of the West Bank, died as a result of the Israeli policy of medical negligence practiced against the Palestinian political prisoners.
Al-Hayat Al-Jadida said the Palestinian Presidency held the Israeli occupation authorities fully responsible for the sudden death of Farajallah, the oldest of the 29 Palestinian women imprisoned in the Israeli prison of Damon, and demanded an international probe into her death.
On a different subject, the dailies quoted Palestinian Attorney-General Akram Al-Khatib as saying that State of Palestine has agreed to allow a specialized US team of experts to conduct a technical examination of the bullet which killed veteran Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, and that the bullet has been handed over to the team who recently arrived in the country for this purpose.
Al-Quds said a young Palestinian man was injured by a live Israeli bullet in the abdomen during confrontations with the Israeli occupation army yesterday in the town of Jaba, north of the occupied West Bank.
Al-Hayat Al-Jadida said Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh affirmed the need to establish a legal advisory unit to be in charge of representing the needy before the judiciary.
Al-Ayyam quoted Shtayyeh as saying the Palestinian government was not considering any new taxes on the public.
Al-Hayat Al-Jadida said the foreign ministers of the Arab countries affirmed in a meeting yesterday in Beirut their commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause, and their rejection of the Israeli violations in occupied Jerusalem.
Al-Ayyam said the Israeli occupation army said yesterday it successfully intercepted three drones flown by the Lebanese Hezbollah organization that were heading for the Karish gas field off occupied Palestine’s Mediterranean coast.
