Data shows slight or almost no change in the construction cost index in Palestine during May

RAMALLAH, Thursday, June 23, 2022 (WAFA) - The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for residential buildings in the West Bank slightly increase by 0.05% during May compared with April due to an increase in the price of the rental of equipment by 0.11%, and the price of raw material by 0.08%. At the same time, labor costs and wages remained stable, today said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).

CCI for non-residential buildings, however, remained stable in May compared to April despite an increase in the price of the rental of equipment by 0.25%. At the same time, the price of raw materials and labor costs and wages remained stable.

On the other hand, CCI for skeleton buildings decreased in May by 0.31% compared with April due to a decrease in the price of raw materials by 0.48%, while the price of the rental of equipment increased by 0.12%. At the same time, labor costs and wages remained stable.

The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) in the West Bank increased by 0.60% during May compared with April due to an increase in the price of raw materials by 0.88%, and the price of the rental of equipment by 0.42%, while the price of operating costs of equipment and maintenance decreased by 0.10%. At the same time, labor costs and wages remained stable during May 2022 compared with the previous month.

The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) decreased by 0.03% in the West Bank during May compared with April, Water Reservoirs Cost Index decreased by 0.62%, while Water Networks Cost Index increased by 0.24%.

The overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) in the West Bank increased by 0.14% during May compared with April, said the PCBS.
