RAMALLAH, Friday, May 13, 2022 (WAFA) – Weather today is mainly clear and relatively hot in daytime and becomes partly cloudy to clear and warm in most districts and mild in the mountains in nighttime with a rise of temperature, which approaches 3°C above the seasonal average, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Moderate to occasionally active northwesterly to northeasterly wind blows in daytime and becomes light to moderate in the night. Sea waves are low.

Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 28°C and a low of 20°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 27°C and a low of 19°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 35°C and a low of 23°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 27°C and a low of 22°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

Saturday’s temperature is set to significantly rise and approach 9°C above the seasonal average, paving the way to prevailing hot to very hot and dry conditions.

Sunday’s temperature is set to plummet to a little bit below the seasonal average, paving the way to partly cloudy and moderate conditions in daytime and relatively cold conditions in the night.

A further slight drop of temperature is expected on Monday with partly cloudy and moderate conditions in daytime and relatively cold conditions in nighttime, particularly in the mountains.

PMD warns people against direct exposure to the sun for long period, particularly during peak hours, and setting fire to dry grassy areas.
