JORDAN, Monday, April 18, 2022 (WAFA) - The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates summoned today the Israeli Chargé d'Affairs in Amman to protest against the illegal and provocative Israeli violations at the al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif in occupied Jerusalem and urge Israel to respect the freedom of worship, according to Jordan’s Petra news agency.
Ministry spokesman Haitham Abul Ful said the Chargé d'Affairs was handed a letter of protest to his government, including a demand to immediately cease Israeli violations and attempts to change the historical and legal status quo at the Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif and to impose a temporal and spatial division of the holy compound, said Petra.
He slammed the attacks on the al-Aqsa mosque as a serious escalation and a violation of international law and Israel's obligations as the occupying power.
