Dailies highlight clashes with occupation forces following Israeli raid of Al-Aqsa

RAMALLAH, Sunday, April 17, 2022 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic-language dailies focused today on clashes which erupted in many areas of the occupied West Bank in the aftermath of the Israeli raid on Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied Jerusalem on Friday early morning.

The dailies said clashes erupted between Palestinian protesters and Israeli occupation forces yesterday in the aftermath of the aggressive Israeli raid on Al-Aqsa Mosque compound early morning on Friday.

Al-Hayat Al-Jadida and Al-Ayyam said President Mahmoud Abbas has sent identical letters to regional leaders in an effort to curb the ongoing Israeli escalation of violence across the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem.

Al-Ayyam said Israeli police officers shattered precious windows glasses during the raid on Al-Aqsa Mosque on Friday.

The two dailies quoted Nabil Abu Rudeienh, spokesman for President Mahmoud Abbas, as saying that “Jerusalem and its holy sites are a permanent strategic choice for the Palestinian people.”

Al-Hayat Al-Jadida said Morocco strongly condemned the Israeli attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque and the assault of worshipers there.

Al-Quds said hundreds of Jordanians demonstrated near the Israeli embassy in Amman in protest of the Israeli attack on Al-Aqsa.

On a different subject, Al-Quds and Al-Hayat Al-Jadida said Palestinian Christians who follow the Catholic Church are celebrating the Holy Saturday and the Easter.
