Weather forecast: Unseasonably cold, rainy conditions expected

RAMALLAH, Friday, March 25, 2022 (WAFA) – Weather today is partly cloudy to cloudy and very cold with a slight rise of temperature, which approaches 9°C below the seasonal average, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Sporadic rain showers along with occasional thunderstorms and hail are still expected, with the rain tapering off towards the night. Moderate to active southwesterly to northwesterly wind blows in daytime, and light to moderate westerly wind blows in the night. Sea waves are medium to high in daytime and low in the night.

Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 8°C and a low of 3°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 7°C and a low of 2°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 16°C and a low of 9°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 8°C and a low of 8°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

A further slight rise of temperature is expected on Saturday, reaching 5°C below the seasonal average with partly cloudy and relatively cold conditions in the mountains and relatively warm conditions in other districts in daytime. Very cold conditions are expected in the night.

Sunday’s temperature is set to further slightly rise and approach 4°C below the seasonal average with partly cloudy to clear and moderate to relatively warm conditions in the mountains and warm conditions in the Jordan Valley in daytime. Relatively cold to cold conditions are expected in nighttime.

A further rise of temperature is expected on Monday, becoming seasonal and paving the way to mostly clear, sunny and warm conditions in daytime. Cold to very cold conditions are expected in the night.

PMD warns people against flash floods in flood-prone areas, slippery roads, gusty wind and low horizontal visibility.
