RAMALLAH, Wednesday, March 9, 2022 (WAFA) – Weather today in Palestine is partly cloudy to cloudy and cold, mainly in the mountainous areas, with a slight drop in temperature, which remains above the seasonal average, and occasional rain and possibly thunderstorms, mainly in the northern and central regions of Palestine, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Winds are northwesterly, moderate to active and sea waves are medium.

Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 15°C and a low of 7°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 14°C and a low of 6°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 24°C and a low of 12°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 19°C and a low of 12°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

A low-pressure and a cold front are expected to affect the region tomorrow, Thursday, causing temperature to plummet to 4°C below the seasonal average. Scattered rain along with thunderstorms and occasional hail are expected on most areas and high sea waves.

A further drop in temperature is expected on Friday, approaching 8°C below the seasonal average. Rain, thunderstorms and hail are also expected with strong winds approaching 70km/h and high sea waves, said the PMD.

A slight rise in temperature is expected on Saturday, which nevertheless remains 6C below the seasonal average, with a chance of rain.
