Palestine records five COVID-19 deaths, 465 new cases

RAMALLAH, Tuesday, March 08, 2022 (WAFA) - Palestine today recorded 465 new Covid-19 cases, five fatalities, and 1420 recovery cases in the last 24 hours, according to Health Minister Mai Alkaila.

She said that 254 cases were recorded in the West Bank, including 170 in the Jerusalem area, and 211 others in the Gaza Strip.

She added in her daily report on the disease that 1420 Covid-19 patients have recovered; 520 recovery cases in the West Bank, 350 in the Jerusalem area, and 900 others in the Gaza Strip.

She said that two deaths were recorded in the West Bank, one in the Jerusalem area, and two others in the Gaza Strip.

The recovery rate in Palestine has so far reached 98 percent, while active cases reached 1.1% percent. The death toll stood at 0.9 percent of total infections.

Alkaila said 57 corona patients are in intensive care units, including 15 on ventilators.
