Palestine logs 800 COVID cases, 13 deaths

RAMALLAH, Friday, March 04, 2022 (WAFA) – Minister of Health Mai Alkaila said today that 797 new cases of COVID-19, 13 deaths and 1,855 recoveries were registered in Palestine during the last 24 hours.

In her daily report on the coronavirus pandemic, Alkaila said five deaths from COVID-19 were registered in the West Bank, while another six deaths were recorded in Gaza. East Jerusalem also recorded two deaths.

A total of 2,197 COVID-19 tests were conducted during the reporting period, with the exclusion of East Jerusalem. In the Gaza Strip, 275 coronavirus tests came out positive, while the West Bank had 107 new cases. East Jerusalem had 415 new cases.

The Health Minister said that in the West Bank, 122 patients of COVID-19 are currently hospitalized, of whom 69 are in intensive care, including 29 on ventilators.

She pointed out that the recovery rate in Palestine has so far reached 97.3 percent, while active cases declined to 1.8 percent. Deaths stood at 0.9 percent of total infections.
