RAMALLAH, Monday, February 14, 2022 (WAFA) - The Palestine Post said yesterday that the e-commerce giant, Amazon.com, Inc., has modified its shipping policy to Palestine equating its shipping prices with neighboring countries, according to Imad Tmeizi, spokesman for the Palestine Post.
He said this change was tested when Palestinian shoppers browsed the Amazon site, calling on Amazon shoppers to use the Palestinian address and zip code when buying online from Amazon.
Tmeizi said efforts are underway to get Ali Express, another e-commerce giant, to also act fairly toward the Palestinian shoppers and treat them similar to shoppers in the region.
He stressed that all electronic sales and shipping companies are required to ship to Palestinians at fair prices with the name of Palestine on the postal materials coming to Palestine.
The e-commerce companies have required shoppers from Palestine to state their address as “Israel” in order to get free shipping but they would have to pay extra fees if the address was Palestine or Palestinian territories.
