RAMALLAH, Monday, February 14, 2022 (WAFA) – The increase in the prices of fresh vegetables and eggs is the main reason for the increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Palestine during January, according to a statement issued today by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).
The overall CPI for Palestine during January recorded an increase of 0.68% compared with December, an increase of 1.00% in Jerusalem, 0.73% in the West Bank, and 0.33% in the Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian CPI during January 2022 increased by 2.68% compared with January 2021 (3.78% in Jerusalem J1, 2.68% in the West Bank, and 2.01% in Gaza Strip).
The changes in Palestinian CPI for January were traced back to changes in prices of the following expenditure sub groups compared with the previous month:
