RAMALLAH, Wednesday, February 2, 2022 (WAFA) – Coronavirus claimed the life of 12 people in Palestine in the last 24 hours as 10,374 new cases were recorded, today said the Ministry of Health.
It said seven people died in the West Bank, which recorded 6065 new cases and 2022 recoveries, while the Gaza Strip recorded five deaths, 2469 new cases and 150 recoveries. East Jerusalem recorded 1840 new cases.
The ministry said 188 corona patients are currently in hospitals and 80 are in intensive care, while 24 are attached to ventilators.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Ministry of Education decided today to shut down all schools and kindergartens in the West Bank for one week starting tomorrow and shift education to virtual in an effort to contain the sharp rise in Covid-19 cases among students and teachers and to use this week to inoculate the students against the coronavirus.
