Palestine records 225 new Covid-19 cases, six deaths

RAMALLAH, Thursday, November 11, 2021 (WAFA) – Palestine today recorded 225 new Covid-19 cases and six deaths, according to Health Minister Mai Alkaila.

She announced that 225 Palestinians tested positive for the highly contagious virus and six others died of it in the occupied territories.

As part of the 225 new cases, 87 cases were registered in the West Bank and 138 others in the Gaza Strip.

She said that three death cases were of residents of the Gaza Strip and the three others of residents of the West Bank.

She added that 474 Covid-19 patients recovered; 141 recovery cases in the West Bank and 333 others in the Gaza Strip.

She pointed that 51 Covid-19 patients are getting treatment in intensive care units and 84 others are currently receiving treatment at hospitals, including nine who are on ventilators.

She said that the recovery rate in Palestine has so far reached 98.2 percent and the active cases account for 0.8 percent. The death toll stood at 1 percent of total infections.

Regarding the Covid-19 vaccination rollout, al-Kaileh said that 2,718,157 people have been so far vaccinated in the occupied territories; 1,971,673 people in the West Bank and 764,484 others in Gaza.
