RAMALLAH, Saturday, October 23, 2021 (WAFA) – Palestine recorded nine deaths and 220 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, according to Minister of Health Mai Alkaila.
She said in her daily report on the pandemic in Palestine that five of the deaths were in the Gaza Strip, where 136 new cases were recorded and 888 patients recovered.
The West Bank had four deaths, 84 new cases, and 184 recoveries.
A total of 106 corona patients remain in hospitals, and 59 are in intensive care, while 10 are on ventilators.
Overall recovery rate in Palestine since the outbreak of the pandemic in March of last year has reached 96.9 percent, while 2.1 percent remain active, and 1 percent have died.
The decline in the number of new cases is attributed to the vaccination process as over 1.25 million people have received two doses of the vaccine while over 23,000 people received the booster shot so far.
