CAIRO, Monday, July 19, 2021 (WAFA) – All Palestinian residents of the Gaza Strip who have been stuck for days and weeks in Egypt were able to return home yesterday following the opening of the Rafah crossing between Egypt and Palestine, according to the Palestine embassy in Cairo.

It said that after the Egyptian authorities have opened the Rafah crossing yesterday, which was exceptionally opened for only one day, all Gaza residents who have been trying to return home for Eid al-Adha holiday following a long closure were able to cross the border and return to the besieged Gaza Strip.

Palestinians were stuck at Cairo airport, Ma’adiyat al-Fardan, al-Areesh, and the International Highway, said the embassy.

The crossing, however, will be closed again starting tomorrow for the four-day Eid al-Adha holiday, it said.
