RAMALLAH, Thursday, July 08, 2021 (WAFA) – Palestine today confirmed 97 new Covid-19 cases and two deaths, according to Health Minister Mai Alkaila.
She said in her daily report on coronavirus in Palestine that 22 cases were recorded in the West Bank and one death while 75 new cases and one death were recorded in the besieged Gaza Strip.
Alkaila added that 140 Covid-19 patients recovered; 18 recovery cases in the West Bank and 122 others in the Gaza Strip.
She pointed that four Covid-19 patients are getting treatment in intensive care units, and seven others are currently receiving treatment at hospitals.
She said that the recovery rate in Palestine has so far reached 98.3 percent, while active cases have declined to 0.6 percent. The death toll stood at 1.1 percent of total infections since the initial outbreak of the disease in Palestine in March of last year.
Regarding the Covid-19 vaccination rollout, Alkaila said that 536,130 people have received their first jab of the vaccine in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, including 385,465 people who received the second dose of the vaccine.
