Shtayyeh discusses political developments with Swedish foreign minister in Muscat

 

MUSCAT, Wednesday, June 02, 2021 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh met during an official visit to Muscat with Swedish Minister of Foreign Affairs Ann Christin Linde, where they discussed the latest political developments and efforts exerted to create a serious political path that ends the Israeli occupation, finds a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause and leads to the establishment of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital.

Shtayyeh stressed the importance of a serious European move, along with the International Quartet, in order to create a political path and a peace initiative to resolve the conflict and achieve the goals of the Palestinian people to obtain their legitimate rights, in accordance with international law and United Nations resolutions.

Shtayyeh reviewed efforts exerted to mobilize political and financial support for the Palestinian people, in addition to efforts to reconstruct the Gaza Strip and to ensure non-repetition of Israeli aggressions on the Strip.

The Prime Minister reiterated the importance of continuing financial support to UNRWA to ensure the provision of its services to Palestinian refugees.
