RAMALLAH, Wednesday, May 05, 2021 (WAFA) – Weather today is mostly clear, dry and hot to very hot in daytime with a slight drop in temperature, which approaches 5°C above the seasonal average, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

 Moderate to slightly cold conditions are expected in nighttime. Light to moderate southwesterly to westerly wind blows in daytime, while light to moderate northwesterly to westerly wind blows in nighttime. Sea waves are low to medium.

Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 30°C and a low of 20°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 29°C and a low of 19°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 40°C and a low of 24°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 31°C and a low of 22°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

A further drop is expected in temperature which approaches 3°C above the seasonal average on Thursday, paving the way to relatively hot to hot and dry conditions in daytime. Moderate to slightly cold conditions are expected in nighttime.

Friday’s temperature is set to further drop and become seasonal, paving the way to mostly clear and mild conditions in mountains and relatively hot to hot conditions in other districts in daytime. Moderate to slightly cold conditions will prevail in nighttime.

A significant rise is expected in temperature, which approaches 6°C above the seasonal average on Saturday, paving the way to mostly clear, dry and hot to extremely hot conditions in daytime. Moderate conditions are expected in nighttime.

PMD warns people against being exposed to the sun for long period, especially from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and setting fire to dry grassy areas.
