RAMALLAH, Tuesday, May 04, 2021 (WAFA) – Weather today is unseasonably hot to very hot and dry in daytime with a rise in temperature, which approaches 6°C above the seasonal average, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Weather tonight is partly cloudy and moderate to slightly cold. Light to moderate southwesterly to westerly wind blows in daytime, while northwesterly to southeasterly wind blows in nighttime. Sea waves are low.

Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 31°C and a low of 22°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 29°C and a low of 12°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 40°C and a low of 26°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 30°C and a low of 23°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

Wednesday’s temperature is set to slightly drop and approach 5°C above the seasonal average, with clear to partly cloudy, dry and hot to very hot conditions in daytime. Moderate to slightly cold conditions are expected in nighttime.

A further drop is expected in temperature which approaches 3°C above the seasonal average on Thursday, paving the way to relatively hot to hot and dry conditions in daytime. Moderate to slightly cold conditions are expected in nighttime.

Friday’s temperature is set to further drop and become seasonal, paving the way to mostly clear and mild conditions in mountains and relatively hot to hot conditions in other districts in daytime. Moderate to slightly cold conditions will prevail in nighttime.

PMD warns people against being exposed to the sun for long period, especially from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and setting fire to dry grassy areas.
