Prime Minister Shtayyeh says stability in Jordan is in the highest Palestinian interest

RAMALLAH, Monday, April 05, 2021 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh reiterated today the Palestinian position in support of neighboring Jordan against any attempt to destabilize it, stressing that stability in Jordan is in the highest Palestinian interest.

“We stand with our brothers in Jordan - the King, the Government, and the people - in the face of any attempts aimed at its security and stability,” said Shtayyeh at the opening of the weekly Palestinian cabinet meeting in Ramallah.

“Jordan's security and stability is in the highest Palestinian interest, and any harm to Jordan's stability is detrimental to the security and stability of Palestine,” he said, stressing the historical relationship between the two peoples, which he described as “a relationship of blood and a common fate,” while wishing Jordan and its people to remain well and safe.

President Mahmoud Abbas yesterday called King Abdullah of Jordan to express Palestine’s firm stand with Jordan against any plots to destabilize it, stressing that stability in Jordan is stability for the entire region, and in particular a Palestinian interest.

Jordan announced yesterday foiling an attempt to destabilize the country at the hands of several officials, including Prince Hamza of the royal family.
