RAMALLAH, Monday, March 29, 2021 (WAFA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Riyad Malki received today at the ministry’s headquarters in Ramallah the European Union Representative to Palestine, Sven Kuehn von Burgsdorff, during which they discussed the latest political developments on the Palestinian arena.
Malki briefed the EU representative on the Israeli violations against the Palestinian people, as well as the political developments following the announcement of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to open an investigation into war crimes committed in the occupied Palestinian territory and the Israeli threats against the Palestinian leadership, the latest of which was the withdrawal of his VIP card upon arrival in the West Bank after a meeting with the Prosecutor of ICC at the Hague.
Maliki called on the European Union to exert pressure on Israel to enable Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem to participate in the elections, whether by voting or running for elections.
He called upon the EU to provide all forms of support needed for the electoral process and to send international observers to monitor the elections.
They also discussed ways to enhance mutual cooperation in various fields.
