Israeli occupation forces detain 22 Palestinians from the occupied territories

RAMALLAH, Tuesday, March 02, 2021 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces today detained at least 22 Palestinians from various parts of the occupied territories, according to the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) and security sources.

They said Israeli forces rounded up three Palestinians after storming their families’ houses in Ramallah district.

One of the detainees was identified as a resident of al-Bireh city, another as a resident of the Ramallah neighborhood of Ein Misbah, and the third a resident of Birzeit town, north of Ramallah.

In the south of the West Bank, Israeli forces detained two Palestinians, including a former prisoner, from al-Khader town, south of Bethlehem city.

Confrontations erupted near the town during the raid and the soldiers opened fire towards protestors. No injuries were reported though.

In Hebron district, soldiers ransacked a house and detained a Palestinian from Ein Sarah neighborhood.

In Nablus district in the north of the West Bank, PPS said an Israeli military raid in Tell village, southwest of the city, resulted in the detention of a Palestinian.

It said Israeli troops also conducted a raid in the Nablus city neighborhood of Rafidia, resulting in the detention of another resident of Tell village.

Soldiers raided Balata, east of Nablus city, where they rounded up another.

Furthermore, PPS confirmed that six others were detained in multiple raids across Tulkarm district.

Sources elaborated that Israeli soldiers forced their way into Shweika neighborhood, north of the city, where they rounded up four Palestinians, including a former prisoner.

They also detained two others, including a former prisoner, after breaking into and searching their families’ houses in Balaa town, east of the city.

In Jenin district, PPS said that soldiers detained three others after breaking into and tampering with the contents of their houses in Jaba town, south of the city.

While in the town, the soldiers showed at the family house of a former prisoner, went inside, assaulted and interrogated him. The raid triggered confrontations. No injuries were reported.

Israeli troops detained a resident of Rummanah village, west of Jenin city, after storming a house in Jericho city.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces rounded up two Palestinian youths from the Jerusalem neighborhood of al-Tur and another from Isawiyya neighborhood.
