HEBRON, January 7, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli forces issued demolition notices Wednesday against two Palestinian homes in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron.
Activist Osama Makhameh told WAFA that Israeli forces raided the village of Tuwana in Masafer Yatta and notified Khaled Rabah Raba'i of the impending demolition of his home, which houses seven people.
He added that Israeli troops also notified Issa Ali Najjar of their intention to demolish his home in the Sha'ab al-Batim area, housing nine people.
According to reports from the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Israeli authorities carried out a total of 538 demolitions in 2025, destroying approximately 1,400 structures. This unprecedented increase is part of a policy targeting Palestinian construction.
The demolitions included 304 inhabited homes and 74 uninhabited homes, in addition to 270 livelihoods and 490 agricultural facilities. These demolitions were concentrated in the governorates of Hebron, Jerusalem, Ramallah, Tubas, and Nablus.
