RAMALLAH, Sunday, January 17, 2021 (WAFA) – Weather today is rainy and cold with thunderstorms and occasional hail-fall as a low pressure accompanied by a cold front affects the country, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Winds are westerly to southwesterly, active to occasionally stormy, and sea waves are high.

Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 12°C and a low of 7°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 11°C and a low of 6°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 21°C and a low of 12°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 17°C and a low of 11°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

Another  drop in temperature is expected for Monday as the low pressure continues to affect the area bringing very cold conditions, rain, thunderstorms and hail.

Another low pressure is expected to affect Palestine on Tuesday. Cold conditions, rain and thunderstorms are expected to prevail, particularly in the north to later spread to the rest of the county during the night.

Temperature drops further on Wednesday, and rainfall, thunderstorms and occasional hail are expected in all districts.

People are warned against floods in valleys and low areas, strong winds, slippery roads and low horizontal visibility due to fog formation.
