RAMALLAH, Friday, January 15, 2021 (WAFA) – Weather today is partially cloudy to cloudy and cold, particularly in mountainous districts, with sporadic rain showers falling on some districts and gradually diminishing towards the night, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Moderate to active westerly to southwesterly wind blows in daytime, and light to occasionally active southwesterly to westerly wind blows in nighttime. Sea waves are medium in daytime and low in nighttime.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 13°C and a low of 8°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 12°C and a low of 7°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 21°C and a low of 13°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 18°C and a low of 12°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
Saturday’s weather continues to be partially cloudy, cold and rainy. Occasional showers are expected in the north along with occasional thunderstorms, and will gradually spread to other districts in the night.
A low colder pressure is set to affect the region on Sunday, paving the way to partially cloudy to cloudy and cold conditions, particularly in the mountains. Sporadic rain showers, which could be torrential, are expected in the north, and will gradually spread to other districts along with occasional thunderstorms.
Monday’s temperature is set to further drop, paving the way to cloudy and stormy conditions. Occasional torrential rain showers along with thunderstorms and occasional hail are expected, with the chance of rain diminishing towards the night.
PMD warns people against floods in flood-prone areas, gusty winds, slippery roads and low horizontal visibility.
