RAMALLAH, Wednesday, January 13, 2021 (WAFA) – Weather today is cloudy, warm and occasionally dusty till midday with a slight rise in temperature, which approaches 10 to 11°C above the seasonal average, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
A cold front is set to affect the region in the evening and night hours, paving temperature to plummet and paving the way to sporadic rainfall with occasional thunderstorms in the north, before spreading to most of the districts. Moderate southeasterly to southwesterly wind blows, and becomes occasionally active. Sea waves are medium.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 21°C and a low of 10°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 20°C and a low of 9°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 28°C and a low of 15°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 24°C and a low of 14°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
A low pressure and cold front are set to affect the region on Thursday, causing temperature to further plummet and become unseasonably low, and paving the way to cold and rainy conditions. Sporadic torrential rain showers with occasional thunderstorms are expected on most districts.
Friday’s weather is partly cloudy and cold, particularly in mountainous districts. Sporadic rainfall is set to fall on some districts, and will gradually diminish towards the night.
Saturday’s weather continues to be cloudy, cold and rainy. Occasional showers, which could be torrential, are expected in the north along with occasional thunderstorms, and will gradually spread to other districts in the night.
PMD warns people against floods in flood-prone areas, gusty winds, slippery roads and low horizontal visibility.
