RAMALLAH, Friday, July 24, 2020 (WAFA) – The general lockdown over the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in the occupied territories went into effect on Friday morning.
Palestine has recently reinstated a full lockdown in the weekends and partial nighttime lockdown to rein in the spread of the pandemic starting from Friday for 14 days to rein in the spread of the pandemic.
Under the general lockdown, travel is prohibited in weekends as well as from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM on weekdays in and between all governorates. Only pharmacies and bakeries are allowed to open.
According to the latest coronavirus data, the confirmed cases in the occupied territories (West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza) reached 91,464 on Thursday.
Out of the 91,464 cases, 61,082 are recorded in the West Bank, 17,411 in the Gaza Strip and 12,971 in East Jerusalem.
Recoveries have totaled 73,470, including 12,229 in Jerusalem, and the death toll reached 767, leaving a total of 17,227 active cases.
Recoveries account for 80.33 percent of total cases since the pandemic outbreak in March, active cases for 18.83 percent and the death toll accounts for 0.84 percent.
