Construction Cost Index for residential buildings slightly up during October, says statistics bureau

RAMALLAH, Tuesday, November 24, 2020 (WAFA) - The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for residential buildings slightly increased in October compared to September and slightly decreased for non-residential buildings, today said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).

It said CCI for residential buildings increased by 0.01% in the West Bank during October compared with September due to an increase of the prices of raw materials by 0.02%, while rental of equipment slightly decreased by 0.08%. Labour costs and wages remained stable during October 2020 compared with the previous month.

CCI for non-residential buildings slightly decreased by 0.08% due to a decrease in the prices of raw materials and rental of equipment by 0.12%, while labour costs and wages remained stable during October 2020 compared with the previous month.

However, CCI for skeleton buildings slightly decreased by 0.04% in the West Bank during October compared with September due to a decrease in rental of equipment by 0.08%, and the prices of raw materials by 0.06%, while labour costs and wages remained stable during October 2020 compared with the previous month.

The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) decreased by 0.71% due to a decrease in the prices of raw materials decreased by 0.95%, operating costs of equipment and maintenance by 0.82%, and rental of equipment by 0.57%. Labour costs and wages remained stable during October 2020 compared with the previous month.

The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) decreased by 0.19% in the West Bank during October compared with September, while Water Reservoirs Cost Index increased by 0.16%, and Water Networks Cost Index decreased by 0.33%, said the PCBS.

The overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) also decreased by 0.15% in the West Bank during October compared with September.
