RAMALLAH, Wednesday, November 18, 2020 (WAFA) – Palestine today recorded 1,251 new Covid-19 cases and nine fatalities, according to Health Minister Mai al-Kaileh.
She announced that 1,251 Palestinians tested positive for the highly contagious virus and nine others died of it in the occupied territories.
As part of the 1,251 new cases, 98 cases were recorded in Hebron governorate, 178 in Nablus, 105 in Bethlehem, 21 in Qalqilia, 81 in Ramallah and al-Bireh, 56 in Jenin, 10 in Jericho, 20 in Salfit, 33 in Tulkarem, 18 in Tubas, 600 in the Gaza Strip, and 31 others in Jerusalem suburbs.
Al-Kaileh identified the fatalities as five people, aged between 67 and 88, from the West Bank, and four others from the Gaza Strip.
She added that 1,159 Covid-19 patients recovered in the occupied territories, while noting that 43 patients remain in intensive care units in hospitals, including 10 who are on respirators.
According to the latest coronavirus data, the confirmed cases in the occupied territories (West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza) reached 78,571.
Out of the 78,571 cases, 54,115 are recorded in the West Bank, 12,071 in the Gaza Strip and 12,385 in East Jerusalem.
Recoveries have totaled 68,486 and the death toll reached 667, leaving a total of 9,418 active cases.
The Minister put the recoveries at 87.2 percent of the total since the pandemic outbreak in Palestine in March, as 12 percent remain active and 0.8 percent have died.
