RAMALLAH, Sunday, October 18, 2020 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies focused today on clashes which erupted in the occupied West Bank village of Kafr Qaddum on Saturday, in which Israeli occupation forces injured three Palestinian protesters by rubber-coated bullets.
On a different subject, the three dailies said Israeli occupation forces assaulted and dispersed dozens of Palestinians who were peacefully protesting in Masafer Yatta locality, south of Hebron in the occupied West Bank, against the Israeli colonial settlement policy and land grab.
Al-Quds, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida and Al-Ayyam said protests took place in many areas across Palestine yesterday, including in Arab towns in Israel, in support of hunger-striking Palestinian detainee in Israeli jails Maher Al-Akhras, who has been on hunger strike for 84 days in protest if detention without trial.
The dailies said for the first time in 52 days, no deaths from coronavirus were registered in Palestine, while 312 new infections were registered by the Ministry of Health.
The dailies said thousands of Israelis resumed protests last night across the country demanding embattled Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to step down.
Al-Hayat Al-Jadida and Al-Ayyam said the Arab Republic of Egypt condemned Israel’s approval of the construction of more than 5,000 units in the occupied West Bank settlements.
Al-Hayat Al-Jadida said Lina Khatb, Head of the Palestine Committee of Norway, reiterated any initiatives on normalization between Arab countries and the occupying state of Israel.
