RAMALLAH, October 8, 2020 (WAFA) – Weather today is dry and relatively hot in mountainous districts and very hot in other districts in daytime with a rise in temperature which approaches 9°C above the seasonal average, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Weather tonight is mild in mountainous districts and relatively hot in other districts. Light to moderate easterly to southeasterly wind blows, and becomes occasionally active. Sea waves are low.

Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 34°C and a low of 22°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 33°C and a low of 21°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 43°C and a low of 28°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 33°C and a low of 25°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

The heat wave continues to affect Palestine and the region on Friday with a slight rise in temperature which approaches 10°C above the seasonal average.

Saturday’s temperature is expected to drop and approach 6°C above the seasonal average, causing the heat stress to relatively abate.

Temperature is set to drop again and approach 3°C above the seasonal average, causing the heat stress to further abate.

PMD warns people against exposure to the sun for long period, particularly from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, as well as against setting fire to dry grassy areas.
