RAMALLAH, Wednesday, October 07, 2020 (WAFA) – Weather today is dry and hot in mountainous districts and very hot in other districts in daytime with no change in temperature which remains 6°C above the seasonal average, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Weather tonight is moderate in the mountains and relatively hot in other districts. Winds are northwesterly to northeasterly, light to moderate, occasionally active and sea waves are low.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 31°C and a low of 21°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 30°C and a low of 20°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 40°C and a low of 27°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 32°C and a low of 24°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
Thursday’s temperature is set to further rise and approach 8°C above the seasonal average, paving the way to very hot and dry conditions in most districts in daytime and relatively hot to mild conditions in nighttime.
The heat wave continues to affect Palestine and the region on Friday with steady temperature.
Saturday’s temperature is expected to drop and approach 4°C above the seasonal average, causing the heat stress to abate.
PMD warns people against exposure to the sun for long period, particularly from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
