Foreign Ministry confirms 11 coronavirus cases in US

RAMALLAH, Monday, October 5, 2020 (WAFA) – Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ministry confirmed today 11 new coronavirus cases among Palestinians in the US, raising the total cases to 6,250.

The Ministry announced in a press statement that 11 Palestinians in Columbus, Michigan and New Jersey tested positive for the novel coronavirus, raising the total number of infections among Palestinians in the US to 3,803 and in the diaspora to 6,250.

It did not report any new COVID-19 deaths, confirming that the death toll among Palestinians in the US stood at 78.

In contrast, according to the latest coronavirus data, the confirmed cases in the occupied territories (West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza) reached 52,954.

Out of the 52,954 cases, 38,530 are recorded in the West Bank, 3,427 in the Gaza Strip and 10,997 in East Jerusalem.

Recoveries have totaled 44,955, including 9,773 in Jerusalem, and the death toll reached 402, leaving a total of 7,597 active cases.
